Thesis or Dissertation
Abstract(s)
This master’s thesis focuses on the environmentalist movement in defence of wetlands created in Bogotá (Colombia) in the 1990s. We discuss a case study on the La Conejera Foundation, the community organization that launched a social mobilization to fight serious socio-environmental problems in neighborhoods of the city of Bogotá. In this context, we explore power relations, taking into account the theory of political ecology and the Latin American theory of the coloniality of power. We analyse the discourse of environmentalists, whose stories explain the movement’s development and its dealings with legal and illegal powers.
