Abstract(s)
The internship project presented in this essay draws on an anti-oppressive theoretical framework. The collective action performed aimed at breaking the cycle of intergenerational violence and fight the injustices lived by the participating families, and more broadly by Anglophone Caribbean families in Montréal, as these violence and injustices constitute obstacles to their parenting.
An original approach to field research put to work during this internship makes it possible, firstly, to present a portrait of the women from St.-Vincent-and-the-Grenadines who participate to the services offered by La Maison Bleue. Secondly, an intervention project in support of collective action in an anti-oppressive and narrative approach is presented. Thirdly, an assessment of this intervention is presented, along with critical reflections. The publication of this essay aims at enriching knowledge on the realities of St.-Vincentian women and on the interventions to privilege in the context of this type of project.
