La littérature jeunesse est principalement étudiée par les domaines de la littérature et de l éducation, l un s intéressant surtout aux thèmes véhiculés dans les uvres et l autre, à leur potentiel éducatif. Rares sont les recherches qui étudient la littérature jeunesse comme un moyen de divertissement, de socialisation ou d enrichissement personnel, au même titre que le sont les autres médias de masse. De plus, on s intéresse peu au point de vue des jeunes sur cette question. Cet article porte sur l analyse comparative des contenus de la série romanesque pour adolescents Pavel et de son forum de discussion sur Internet. En s appuyant sur les théories de Denis McQuail et de Stuart Hall, l auteur démontre les satisfactions psychologiques et les usages sociaux associés à la lecture de cette série et aux thèmes qui y sont abordés. Une réflexion sur les forums de discussion comme lieu d étude de la réception des productions littéraires jeunesse est finalement présentée.
