| fr |
dcterms.abstract | In order to arrive at the right diagnosis, clinicians must select appropriate and conclusive clinical tests. We have reviewed the evidence-based literature on clinical tests used in the physical exam of the lumbar spine. These tests will confirm or invalidate the diagnostic impression formulated at the end of the clinical interview. In this research, we have found convincing proof that no single test can lead to the correct diagnosis. The research recommends that combinations of tests be used to validate the clinical diagnosis. If the results of the clinical tests are in agreement, the sensitivity and the specificity of the examination improves and the clinician is more confident of achieving the right diagnosis. | fr |
