Cet article présente la première génération de bibliothèques publiques
issues du Programme d’agrandissement, de rénovation et de
construction (RAC) de la Ville de Montréal. Les conditions visant la
réussite de la programmation et la qualité architecturale des projets
sont exposées. La vision et les concepts qui structurent ces projets
contribuent à l’émergence d’un modèle de bibliothèque tiers lieu
novateur à Montréal. This article describes the first generation of public libraries that grew
out of the expansion, renovation and construction programme of
the City of Montréal. Certain conditions as well as the quality of
the architecture were necessary if this programme was to succeed.
The vision and the concepts that supported these library projects
helped a new library model emerge as an innovative third space in
Montréal. Este artículo presenta la primera generación de bibliotecas públicas
que surgen del programa de expansión, renovación y construcción
(RAC) de la ciudad de Montreal. Se presentan las condiciones que
apuntan al éxito de la programación y la calidad arquitectónica
de los proyectos. La visión y los conceptos que estructuran estos
proyectos contribuyen al surgimiento de un modelo de biblioteca
como un tercer espacio innovador en Montreal.
