Thesis or Dissertation
Abstract(s)
The woman victim of violence has been a subject of intervention through various prevention programs, protection programs, etc. For men, on the other hand, only prison sentences according to the gravity of the crime were attributed. It was not until the 1970s that the first intervention programs for male perpetrators of domestic violence were initiated in the United States.
Using a qualitative analysis, this research focuses on a Chilean intervention program for male perpetrators of domestic violence. Based on semi-directed interviews with therapists working at the Hombres Libres y Familia Foundation in Santiago, Chile, this project aims to analyze the deconstruction of masculinity conditions carried out by the therapists, while by questioning the gender representations that guide their actions.
